Hands-on Meta-analysis Workshop

In this two-day workshop, we take a hands-on approach to learn meta-analysis technique from ground zero. Only very basic stats knowledge (e.g., mean, standard deviation, confidence interval) will be assumed. We will cover the following topics: (1) the kind of meta-analysis that can be published in top-tier journals, (2) the method to search and code primary studies with high level of rigor (3) essential meta-analytic techniques such as Hunter-Schmidt method versus Hedges-Olkin method, and (4) advanced meta-analytic techniques such as meta-ANOVA, meta-regression, multilevel meta and meta-SEM. After this workshop, you will be able to get started to work on a meta-analysis by yourself.
The instruction language will be in Chinese but PowerPoint slides and terminology will be in English.

实用元分析工作坊

在这个为期两天的工作坊里,我们会以实操的方法来从零开始学习元分析。此工作坊只会默认大家掌握极为基本的统计学知识(例如平均值,标准差,置信区间)。我们会学习以下内容 (1)什么样的元分析可以发表在顶级期刊,(2)如何严谨地搜索和整理已有的实证研究,(3)学习重要的元分析方法Hunter-Schmidt 方法 [重点讲解] 和Hedges-Olkin方法,(4)学习进阶元分析方法,例如meta-ANOVA, meta-regression, and meta-SEM。参加此工作坊以后,你将能够自主开始做一个元分析的研究项目。
